Road Map To Success Workshop: How to Speak in Public
During the nominations for the presidential elections of 2008, Hilary Clinton said, “I have a lifetime of experience that I will bring to the White House, Senator John Main has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White house and Senator Barack Obama has a speech he wrote in 2004.”
In almost every area in life the ones that are most successful are the ones that can stand up and speak convincingly in front of other people. Most people are terrified of public speaking. But public speaking is a learnable skill. When you make the effort to develop that skill the benefits come back to you. We all admire people who seem naturally good at things we fear or find difficult. When someone sees that you are good at one thing, they naturally assume youmust be good at everything.
On Saturday February 4, 2012 BPW Durham will be conducting an interactive workshop facilitated by May Daemi from Toastmasters International. Ms. Daemi is a practicing Dentist. She also received the DTM (Distinguished Toastmasters) Award in 2008, is Past Area Governor, Past President of Whitby and Durham Region TM Clubs, Founder and Mentor of Durham Region TM Club and Youth Leadership Trainer.
In the workshop everyone will be writing a short presentation and then it will be recorded as it is presented to the group. The recording will then be played back where you will receive positive feedback on what you did well as well as areas for improvement.
The workshop is open to all members as well as non-members. Pre-Registration is required
