With a passion for quality workmanship and attention to detail,urban artist and owner of Specialty Paint Finishes, Lorna Weston-Smyth has been creating quality finishes for almost thirty years and experienced in many different decorative painted and plaster finishes. Having studied at and certified by the internationally renowned Ritins Studio in Toronto she is also fully insured and certified under the Health and Safety Act giving you, the homeowner, the security and peace of mind knowing that you are dealing with a professional.
Born and raised in Scarborough, Lorna has resided in Ajax for over 28 years and now lives in Ajax with her husband and youngest son. She is President of the Business and Professional Women of Durham as well as a member of the Canadian Association of Renovators and Home Services (CARAHS), Pine Ridge Arts Council, the Durham West Arts Centre and the Let’s Do Lunch Networking Group. Nominated in 2008 for the Benefits for Women Phenomenal Women Award, she also sits on the Durham College Entrepreneurship and Small Business Advisory Council, has done volunteer work for the Habitat for Humanity Restore, YWCA’s Adelaide House and Adelaide’s Attic in Oshawa, Luke’s Place, Charles Best Diabetes Centre in Whitby, and taught a workshop for Girls Inc Girls’ Day Out Fundraiser.
Most recently, she was a guest speaker at the International Home Show at the International Centre in March 2010.
