Being a Voice…. Changing the Face of Canadian Politics
Some Fundamental Facts: equalvoice.ca
Canada is falling behind in women’s representation. Canada ranks 40th out of 189 countries in the number of women elected to parliament. Canada has fewer women elected to federal government than Rwanda, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Come hear about the importance of getting more women into political office and how now is the time to start preparing for the next round of elections starting in 2014 (municipal) and 2015 (Provincial again) and probably 2015-2016 (Federal). To wait until an election call goes out to throw your hat in the ring is not the best way to get into office. You need to start building your foundation now.
Equal Voice will be joining us to talk about how to do it right and why we need to do it. Equal Voice is group of women and men who are deeply concerned about Canadian politics and have formed a multi-partisan, non-profit organization devoted to the still-bold idea that more women must be elected to every level of government in Canada. Their mission is to promote the election of more women to all levels of Government and ultimately, change the face of Canadian politics.
